Adopting an AnimalWe are looking for life-long, permanent homes for our animals and we need to be sure you can provide such a home. This means we have to ask questions about your personal circumstances, including your ability to meet routine and emergency Vet bills, which will become solely your responsibility following adoption. We do ask all the family to visit the animal at the Centre before a booking can be taken and, if you are adopting a dog, and you already have a one, that you also bring them to the Centre to meet a potential new member of the household. Also we do not rehome dogs to homes where there are children under the age of 5 years and if you live in rented accommodation you will need written permission from the council or landlord who owns the property. Adoption Procedure The branch (although under the umbrella of the RSPCA) is a separate, self-supporting charity. We depend on the people of the local area for the funding needed to maintain our work for the animal welfare including the Preston Animal Centre and the Clinic. The normal adoption procedure is as follows:-
The ADOPTION FEES currently payable are:-
The adoption fees are only a contribution to the costs of, for example, neutering, microchipping, vaccinations and the large running costs of the Animal Centre. If you are interested in adopting one of our animals please view our Pets of The Month Page to see if you can offer one of our more needy residents a kind and loving home |
