Radio stations in the UK are regulated by law and GMG Radio is committed to ensuring full and complete compliance to all sections of licensee requirements. The statutory regulator for all UK radio broadcast is OFCOM which awards licences and regulates content in accordance with the Broadcast Code.
All GMG Radio stations strive to operate within the conditions of its licence and the Code at all times and welcomes comments about its output.
Should you wish to make any comments on any aspect of our output, please click the appropriate link as identified below and we endeavor to respond to all correspondence when required within a minimum of seven working days.
OFCOM also requires that we maintain a Public File which contains information about the provision of the Licensed Services in accordance with guidelines as drawn up and from time to time revised by OFCOM. The Public File is available via our website or by post, in hard copy to any member of the public upon reasonable request.

News Bulletin Schedule
Smooth Radio broadcasts bulletins containing a mix of North West, UK and world news together with sport and entertainment on the hour from 6am to 7pm weekdays and from 7am to 2pm on a weekend. There are also updates at 6:30am, 7:30am, 8:30am, 09:30am, 16:30pm, and 17:30pm on weekdays and 6:30am, 7:30am, 8:30am and 09:30am on weekends.
Bulletins from 8pm until midnight on weekdays and 3pm until 11pm on weekends are supplied by GMG Radio’s news hub in Manchester.
Overnight, news bulletins come from Sky News Radio.
